Hi there!
Am after some help. I've had my mexibug for about a year now and am one happy lad - however!! There is a killer deadspot at low revs - to the point that my poor bug dies. This means that to get through london traffic, I usually have to keep the revs quite high - its not great. I've changed most conceivable parts on the ignition system and really think that hooking the bug upto some VAGCOM software could diagnose the problem. However the garages I've tried either refuse me flat, don't have the software, or don't have the correct cable. Firstly, hs anyone come across this problem themselves before?? Does anyone know of anyone with VAGCOM and suitable cable in or around LONDON that could help me please???
Many thanks in advance!
Rich.

Hiya Geordieboy,
I can help you out there, where abouts in London are you based ?
I will be busy this weekend, but I will be free during the week.
I have VW's VAG 1552 with my own adaptor lead (as well as a laptop with the VAG-COM software installed on it), so I can very easily diagnose your mexican beetle very quickly. I also have my own fuel pressure test set as well just in case there's a fault with the fuel injection system.
Anyway, let me know where you are based and when you're free.
It's a shame that garages in general have the attitude of if they don't know how they work, they just don't want to know how they work, especially in this country !!!
In fact to be honest, practically every garage (at least in the UK) doesn't have a clue of how the mexican beetle works !!
