Shock absorbers

Hi all
I am considering changing my shocks on my 95 1600i and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I do not want to make my ride too hard so i presume gas shocks are out?? Can anyone suggest some good shocks & steering damper? I get the impression original mexican ones not good quality - would you agree?

Hiya Paul,

Any standard beetle shock absorber will work with the mexican beetle since the mexican beetle is mostly based on the late european 1200 beetle.

I just used standard pattern part (made by Boge) shock absorber on mine without any problems
